2. Why We Verify Age
NoirDeck contains content that is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. Under the UK Online Safety Act 2023 ("OSA") and Ofcom's published guidance on robust age verification, we are legally required to take reasonable steps to prevent children from accessing age-restricted content on our platform.
We take this obligation seriously. No user may access content on NoirDeck without first completing age verification.
3. Our Age Verification Methods
We use the following methods to verify that users are aged 18 or over:
3.1 Digital ID Verification (Yoti)
We use Yoti, an accredited age verification provider, to verify identity via government-issued photo ID or passport. Yoti is an Ofcom-recognised provider offering "robust" age assurance as defined under the OSA. NoirDeck never sees or stores your ID documents — Yoti communicates only a pass/fail result and your approximate age band.
3.2 Credit Card Check
We may offer credit or debit card verification as a supplementary method. No charge is made. Card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by NoirDeck. This method is used as a secondary indicator of age and is not considered "robust" in isolation under Ofcom guidance.
4. What Data We Collect
During age verification we collect and store only the minimum information necessary:

We do not store copies of ID documents. We do not store biometric data. We do not share your verification data with third parties except as required by law.
5. Third-Party Providers

6. Children Under 18
If our age verification process indicates that a user is under 18 years of age, access will be denied immediately and permanently. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.
